Health Economics Programme Description

The aim of the Health Economics Programme is to provide high quality collaborative input on health economic evaluation aspects of all the Work Programmes where needed, including economic modelling, preference estimation, economic analysis, interpretation of economic findings and reporting.

The economics work is based on the fact that we do not pay for many health and care services at the time we use them. So there is no price to reflect the subjective value we place on services and the health and social benefit we derive from them. So we need to find alternative ways to understand the costs and value of services.
